Product Description

Inconel 718 Seamless Tube – High-Performance Alloy for Extreme Environments

TSM Technology's Inconel 718 Seamless Tube has a proven track record of performance in the most extreme environments. Our production capability is 100-200 tonnes/ month for seamless tubes with tensile strength ≥1240 MPa and yield strength ≥1035 MPa. Constructed to ASTM B983, ASME SB983 standards, these tubes avoid the weld-path weaknesses with improved burst pressure ratings up to 1300°F (700°C). Our tube dimensions vary from OD 6 to 219 mm and wall thickness from 0.5 to 15 mm. We ultrasonically and eddy current test every tube in our 50,000㎡ ISO 9001 and AS9100D certified facility.

What is Seamless Tube Inconel 718?

The product is a precipitation hardening nickel chromium alloy produced by cold drawing or cold rolling. This is a continuous structure, no welds.

The seamless design solves critical challenges you face daily:

  • Material fatigue during extreme thermal cycles
  • Stress-corrosion cracking in sour gas environments
  • Structural deformation under high-pressure loads

Unlike welded alternatives, our seamless construction eliminates preferential weld-path corrosion. You get superior burst pressure ratings for high-integrity fluid and gas transport in mission-critical systems.

Production and Processing Technology

What is the Production Process of Inconel 718 Seamless Tubes?

Step 1: Raw Material Selection

We purchase high purity nickel chromium alloy ingots from reputable sources.

Step 2: Hot Extrusion

Billet material is heated and extruded into hollow tube shells.

Step 3: Cold Drawning

Multiple passes using precise dies decrease diameter, refine wall thickness to close tolerances

Step 4: Heat Treatment

  • Solution annealing at 1900–1950°F
  • Age hardening at 1325°F for 8 hours

Step 5: Finishing

Bright annealing, pickling or polishing as per your requirements.

Step 6 : Testing & Inspection

Each tube is checked for quality.

Production and Processing Technology

Quality Inspection

Your projects need zero-defect materials. Quality control consist of:

Ultrasonic Testing (UT): Detects internal inclusions and longitudinal defects

Eddy Current Testing (ET): Identifies surface and near-surface flaws

Hydrostatic Testing: Verifies pressure containment integrity

Positive Material Identification (PMI): Verifies conformance to chemical makeup

Dimensional Inspection: wall thickness uniformity, ovality control as per ASTM E112

Microstructural Analysis Confirms grain size for best fatigue life

All tubes are supplied with full traceability documents: MTC, QAC, ITP and MTR certifications.

FAQ

Q: What is the major benefit of the product over welded tubes?

A: Seamless tubes are more uniform structurally. They are designed to remove the heat affected zone (HAZ) of a weld, a location of typically premature corrosion or mechanical failure.

Q: Are these tubes suitable for cryogenic applications?

A: Yes. The material has good impact strength and ductility at sub-zero temperatures. This makes it appropriate for liquid oxygen and hydrogen carrier systems.

Q: What is the normal heat treatment for these tubes?

A: Tubes are normally delivered in solution-annealed form. Then they are age hardened by precipitation hardening at 1325 °F so as to attain maximal strength by the development of gamma prime phase.

Q. What is the performance in sour gas (H2S) service?

A: It has excellent resistance. The alloy is qualified for NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 service in extremely corrosive oilfield settings including H2S and CO2.

Q: What are common machining challenges?

A: High work-hardening rates need carbide tools, lower cutting speeds and enough coolant for machining. We may also provide size-specific tubes to facilitate your production process.

Q: Do you provide material certifications?

A: Yes. All shipments are accompanied by material test certificates (MTC), SGS reports and complete traceability paperwork according to your quality standards.

Q : What is your minimum order quantity?

A: Our MOQ is just 50kg and we have common size stock to assist your urgent projects.
