Product Description

Nickel 200 Seamless Tube – High-Purity Wrought Nickel Solution

TSM Technology manufactures Nickel 200 Seamless Tube enterprise-grade seamless tubes with 99.0% minimum nickel purity, engineered to ASTM B161 and ASME SB161 standards. Our seamless construction eliminates weld seams and Heat Affected Zones, providing superior structural integrity for high-pressure chemical reactors and alkaline processing systems. With production capacity reaching 100–200 tons monthly across sizes from OD 6–219 mm and wall thickness 0.5–15 mm, we ensure tight tolerances and consistent quality through our 50,000㎡ facility equipped with over 100 precision machines.

What Are Nickel 200 Seamless Tubes?

These are commercially pure wrought nickel products manufactured through cold-drawing or extrusion processes. The seamless structure ensures continuous material integrity without welded joints. This construction method provides uniform corrosion resistance and exceptional mechanical properties throughout the tube wall. They are essential when working with solutions of sodium hydroxide or in applications with high thermal conductivity. The design with no weld seams removes the possible weak places where stress corrosion cracking often occurs.

What Are the Features of Nickel 200 Seamless Tubes?

Unrivalled Alkaline Resistance

Your caustic evaporators and sodium hydroxide processing systems will have excellent resistance to concentrations up to 70%.

High Thermal Conductivity

At 70.2 W/m·°C, these tubes transport heat far quicker than stainless steel options, enhancing your process efficiency.

Superior Ductility

Complex bending and forming operations become easier without compromising structural integrity.

Contamination-Free Processing

The high purity prevents product discoloration in synthetic fiber and food processing applications.

Temperature Range

Cryogenic to Moderate Reliable cryogenic to 315°C performance for adaptability across applications

Seamless Construction

Removes the danger of welded junctions, including the HAZ weakness and possible failure spots under load.

Application

Chlor-Alkali Industry: Heating elements and evaporator tubes for concentrated caustic solutions where pitting corrosion would kill conventional materials in a matter of months.

Synthetic Fibre Manufacturing: Piping systems for viscose rayon manufacturing where little amounts of contamination effect product quality and market price.

Vacuum systems and electronic shielding for aerospace components that need low vapour pressure and reliable operation in challenging conditions.

Chemical Processing Reactors and heat exchangers for acid- and neutral salt solutions.

Food Processing Equipment: Where product purity is a regulatory requirement and a non-negotiable.

Processing and Production Technology

TSM Technology uses state-of-the-art production methods for precision-engineered tubes. Our procedure starts with high purity raw materials from certified vendors, providing constant chemical composition.

What Is the Production Process of Nickel 200 Seamless Tubes?

Step 1: Material Selection

We source 99.0%+ pure nickel billets verified through Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES).

Step 2: Hot Extrusion

Billets are heated to optimal forming temperature and extruded through precision dies to create initial tube profiles.

Step 3: Cold Drawing

Final dimensions are obtained by many cold-drawing passes via tungsten carbide dies with tolerances within ±0.05 mm.

Step 4: Heat Treatment

Bright annealing in controlled environment furnaces is used to release internal tensions and to optimise mechanical characteristics.

Step 5: Finishing the surface

Pickling, polishing or brilliant annealing techniques will give you your desired surface finish.

Step 6: Straightening and Cutting

Precision straightening equipment ensures Nickel 200 Seamless Tube concentricity before cutting to your required lengths.

Processing and Production Technology

Quality Inspection

Each tube is subjected to rigorous multi-tier examination prior to shipment:

Non-Destructive Testing: Ultrasonic Testing (UT) ASTM E213 for internal defects. Eddy Current Testing (ET) Detects sub-surface and surface flaws.

Hydrostatic Testing : Pressure testing demonstrates your containment capabilities for your operational settings.

Chemical Verification: Analysis by OES validates nickel content of minimum 99.0% and regulated levels of impurities.

Mechanical Testing: Testing of tensile strength, yield strength and elongation to certify conformity with ASTM B829.

Dimensional Inspection: Wall thickness homogeneity, ovality, and straightness are checked using laser measuring devices to ensure they meet specification limitations.

Documentation Package: Complete traceability via Material Test Reports, Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Quality Assurance Certificates (QAC).

FAQ

Q: Why is Nickel 200 confined to temperatures below 315°C?

A: Above 315 °C, carbon precipitates as graphite and embrittles. For high temperature service, get the reduced carbon version, Nickel 201.

Q: Are these tubes resistant to hydrochloric acid?

A: Yes, they have very good resistance in deaerated HCl at ambient temperature and decreasing acid conditions. Other alloys are needed for oxidising conditions.

Q: What is the difference between ASTM B161 and B163 specifications?

A. Pipe and tube for general purposes should conform to ASTM B161. Tighter dimensional tolerances for condenser and heat exchanger tubes are specified in ASTM B163.

Q: Can I use Nickel 200 tubes for marine applications?

A: They are resistant to moving saltwater but may pit in static situations due to marine fouling. Marine conditions need regular upkeep.

Q: How can I know that stuff on site is real?

A. Nickel 200 is paramagnetic at normal temperature. The simple magnet test for Positive Material Identification (PMI) is a rapid field check before installation.

Q: What wall thickness tolerance can you achieve?

A: Standard tolerance is ±10% of nominal wall thickness. For critical applications requiring tighter control, we offer ±5% tolerance through enhanced inspection protocols.

Q: Do you provide material traceability documentation?

A: Absolutely. Every shipment includes MTC showing heat number, chemical analysis, mechanical test results, and full traceability to the raw material source.
