What are Nickel 201 Seamless Tubes?

They are non-welded, commercially pure nickel alloy seamless tubes. The procedure is a continuous grain structure of hot rolling or cold drawing. In high-temperature or vacuum applications you do not have the problems of weld degradation (as with welded tubes). The low carbon content inhibits intergranular embrittlement over 315°C and so they are suitable for caustic soda and synthetic fibre processing.

What are the Features of Nickel 201 Seamless Tubes?

1. Superior High-Temperature Stability

You can run at above 315°C continuously without fear of graphitization.

2. Excellent resistance to corrosion

Reduces acids and fluorine compounds. Protects against caustic alkalis.

3. Zero Weld Seam Vulnerability

Eliminates the weakest point found in welded tubes, increasing burst pressure safety.

4. High Thermal and Electrical Conductivity

Ideal for heat exchangers and electronic housing applications.

5. Excellent Formability

Allows bending, flaring, and expansion during installation without cracking.

Application

Caustic Soda Processing

You'll find these tubes in evaporators handling sodium hydroxide above 75% concentration, where stainless steel would fail rapidly.

Chemical Production

Essential for synthetic fiber manufacturing and vinyl chloride monomer production, ensuring zero contamination.

Aerospace and Electronics

Used in fuel lines, vacuum components, and sensitive housings where micro-leaks could cause catastrophic failures.

Pharmaceutical Equipment

Maintains purity standards in reactors and distillation columns.

Marine Engineering

Resists saltwater corrosion in heat exchangers and condenser tubes.

Production and Processing Technology

Our manufacturing integrates modern equipment with precision control—the 60,000㎡ facility houses over 100 specialized machines. Raw materials undergo strict PMI testing before processing. We source only from qualified high-purity suppliers, ensuring consistent chemistry. The seamless process creates uniform wall thickness and superior surface finish. Cold drawing enhances mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy.

Factory

Our modern production facility spans 60,000 square meters across multiple zones:

  • Melting and Forging Workshop: Controlled-atmosphere furnaces ensure material purity
  • Rolling and Drawing Area: Automated lines maintain dimensional precision
  • Heat Treatment Section: Computer-controlled annealing for consistent properties
  • Testing Laboratory: Equipped with spectrometers, ultrasonic flaw detectors, and tensile testers
  • Machining Center: CNC equipment for custom cutting and finishing

We welcome factory audits and virtual tours to demonstrate our capabilities.

What is the Production Process of Nickel 201 Seamless Tubes?

Step 1: Material Selection

We verify Nickel 201 Seamless Tube nickel purity and carbon content through spectrographic analysis.

Step 2: Billet Preparation

Controlled environment furnaces provide homogeneous heating of raw material.

Step 3: Piercing Warm-up

Rotary piercing mills. These mills puncture billets to make hollow shells.

Step 4: Hot Rolling

The diameter is reduced and the grain structure refined by a series of mandrel-mill passes.

Step 5: Cold Drawing (Optional)

The precision drawing process provides tight tolerances and flawless finishes.

Step 6: Annealing

Heat treatment removes internal tensions and restores ductility.

Step 7: Polishing/Pickling

Surface treatment eliminates oxides and produces specific surface finishes.

Production Process

Quality Inspection

Positive Material Identification (PMI)

X-ray fluorescence shows a low carbon and high nickel content.

FAQ

Q: Why do we chose the product over Nickel 200?

A: Nickel 201 should be used for temperatures above 315°C. Its decreased carbon concentration avoids graphitization which would render Nickel 200 brittle.

Q. Are these tubes weldable for installation?

A: Yes.  The tube itself is seamless but may be joined in portions using ERNi-1 filler metal by either TIG or MIG welding following proper surface cleaning.

Q: What pressure ratings can I expect?

A: Seamless structure, greater burst pressure than welded options. Ratings vary on diameter, wall thickness and temperature. Our experts calculate ASME B31.3 Safe working pressures.

Q: Is Nickel 201 resistant to sulfuric acid?

A: It is resistant to non-oxidizing sulfuric acid at normal temperature. Instead, we suggest the use of Hastelloy or Inconel alloys for oxidising acids.

Q: What surface finishes are available?

A: Standard alternatives are bright annealed (BA) for a clean finish and pickled (white acid) for further processing. Sanitary applications are provided with polished finishes.

Q: How do you ensure dimensional accuracy?

A: All manufactured tubes are inspected using laser micrometres. According to ASTM standards, we have tolerances of +/-0.1mm on OD and +/-10% on wall thickness.

Q: Can you provide small quantities for prototyping?

A: Yes. Our 50 kg minimum order and stock availability support your development projects before full-scale production.
