Product Description

Nickel Seamless Tube – High-Performance Corrosion-Resistant Piping Solution

Manufactured from Nickel Seamless Tube commercially pure nickel (99.0%+ purity) using advanced extrusion and cold-drawing processes, our tubes eliminate weld-zone vulnerabilities that plague traditional welded pipes. TSM produces tubes with a manufacturing capacity of 100-200 tonnes per month, according to ASTM B161, ASTM B167, JIS and DIN requirements. TSM Technology's seamless tubes are used for harsh situations with uniform metallurgical structure. We can provide bright annealed and pickled finishes in diameters ranging from OD 6–219 mm, wall thickness 0.5–15 mm. You will get ready-to-install goods supported by ISO 9001, AS9100D certifications and comprehensive material traceability paperwork.

What is Nickel Seamless Tubing?

The product is a hollow cylindrical product produced without any longitudinal or circumferential welds. These are produced by piercing and cold drawing solid billets . The tube has a homogeneous grain structure throughout, unlike welded alternatives . This manufacturing process removes the heat impacted zones where corrosion normally starts. You obtain uniform wall thickness, higher pressure ratings and dependable performance in caustic chemicals, high vacuum systems and severe temperatures. The seamless structure provides operating pressure ratings roughly 20% greater than welded tubes as per ASME B31.3 regulations – an important benefit when system failure is not an option.

What Are the Features of Nickel Seamless Tubes?

Seamless Construction

The elimination of seams removes weak areas vulnerable to corrosion and mechanical failure under cyclic stress.

Excellent corrosion resistance

Pure nickel resists caustic alkalis, reducing acids and halogen vapours that attack stainless steel and carbon steel.

Stability at High Temperatures

Nickel 201 has low carbon to avoid intergranular corrosion over 315°C and therefore retain the structure via heat cycling.

Higher pressure ratings

The uniform wall thickness and homogenous construction enable these tubes to safely withstand greater internal pressures.

Good Formability

Sina Unicom potestas propria est in opere curatorum exterarum in Sinis, negotium, voluptuaria, visitare propinquos et alia documenta officia.

Thermal and Electrical Conductivity

Nickel Seamless Tube's natural conductivity makes these tubes suitable for heat exchanger applications and electrical instrumentation.

Application

Chemical Processing Plants

Production of caustic soda, transmission of chlorine gas and processing of hydrogen fluoride where normal materials are quickly corroded

Oil & Gas Sector

Used in subsea umbilical systems, down hole control lines and high pressure injection systems that have to be leak resistant.

Aerospace Engineering (continued)

For hydraulic systems, fuel lines and pneumatic controllers where dependability under vibration and temperature extremes is needed.

Generation of Nuclear Power

An essential component of steam generators and heat exchangers when corrosion-resistant materials are required for radiation exposure and high-purity water.

Production of Food and Pharmaceuticals

This natural oxide coating means that these tubes are perfect for ultra-pure processing conditions since they will not contaminate.

How Is Nickel Seamless Tube Made?

Selection of Raw Materials

TSM buys high purity nickel ingots from approved suppliers. Purity is validated by spectrographic examination at 99.0%+.

Preparation of the Billet

Ingot homogenisation is conducted before casting at regulated temperatures to provide a homogenous grain structure.

Hot Extrusion

Heated billets are passed via hydraulic presses to produce hollow shells with initial dimensional profiles.

Piercing and Mandrel Drawing

The shell is perforated and drawn over precise mandrels in a number of passes to a progressively reduced diameter and wall thickness.

Cold Drawing

Cold drawn via tungsten carbide dies, this process achieves tight tolerances (±0.05 mm) and high surface polish.

Heat Treatment

Bright annealing in controlled atmosphere furnaces relieves internal stresses and optimizes mechanical properties.

Finishing and Inspection

Tubes receive final pickling, polishing, or passivation before dimensional verification and non-destructive testing.

How Is Nickel Seamless Tube Made?

FAQ

Q: Why Nickel 201 instead of Nickel 200 for seamless tubing?

A: Nickel 201 has a maximum of 0.02% carbon compared to 0.15% for Nickel 200. This decreased carbon content avoids graphitisation and intergranular embrittlement at temperatures over 315°C. Thus it is preferred for high temperature service.

Q: Is it suitable for high purity food grade applications?

A: Yes. The natural oxide film eliminates metallic contamination; FDA and 3-A Sanitary Standards for food processing, pharmaceutical manufacture and synthetic fibre manufacturing.

Q: What is the standard finish of the surface?

A: Bright Annealed (BA) for smooth, oxide-free surfaces, pickled for scale removal, and polished finishes from 180-grit to mirror shine depending upon your application needs.

Q. How does the pressure rating compare to welded tubes?

A: Seamless construction generally permits 20% greater operating pressure ratings under ASME B31.3 due to the elimination of the longitudinal joint efficiency factor (usually 0.8–0.85 for welded pipes).

Q: What are the lead times for custom sizes?

A: Custom dimensions require specialized tooling and progressive cold drawing. 35-45 days lead time depending on diameter, wall thickness and total amount. We keep popular sizes in stock for quicker delivery.

Q: Do you give paperwork for material traceability?

A: Yes.  Material Test Certificates (MTC) accompany each order and contain heat number traceability, chemical composition reports, mechanical test findings and a compliance declaration to the prescribed requirements.

Q: What is your MOQ?

A: Our standard MOQ is 50 kg, though we maintain inventory of common sizes that may be available in smaller quantities. Please contact our sales team for stock availability.
